Day 26 - Exploring Stuttgart!

Stuttgart is a beautiful city and is the 6th largest in Germany.  It is 1 hours drive to Bavaria and 2 hours drive to the Swiss border. And it's also super close to the French border.

We certainly covered a lot of Germany over the last 4 weeks
Stuttgart if very hilly area as now we are closer to Bavaria, Switzerland and Austria where the Alps are.

We have been very welcomed and made to feel at home by Jocki and Uschi which included a huge, tasty breakfast in their beautiful garden.

Our lovely hosts Jocki and Uschi
After our breakfast we went to walk through the local vineyards.

There are many vineyards on the hills and we had a fantastic long walk to build up an appetite for Kaffee and Kuchen afterwards.  My thighs and calves are getting a great workout on our German trip but isn't it funny how you go on holiday and come home a few kilos heavier......even though you walked every day.

The view is breathtaking

Haha! Tony looks like the owner of the vineyard

After our big walk through the vineyards of course we went to a Cafe  to get our reward.  The view overlooking the vineyards and the houses below was just breathtaking.

Tony and I chose beer!

Typical Kuchen (cake with cream)

Our well earned rest stop

Tony's getting really good at selfies
In the afternoon we visited a local festival that was on this weekend.  Lucky us!  You could say it was a mini Octoberfest!  So lots of beer drinking, oompa band, and sausages to be had.

I think I did a good selfie too!

Es war einen wunderschoenen Tag in Stuttgart!

Tomorrow we leave for Wurtzburg in the afternoon.
