Day 15 - The Beautiful Village of Einbeck!

Wow! Einbeck is a must see on your travels if you are coming to Germany.......as you must!  The old part of the town is just stunning and fill with beautiful old buildings dating back to .... medieval times!

We had Kaffee without the Kuchen with Hiltrude (Lisa's grandmother/Oma) her partner Helmut and Susanne, Lisa's mum. A lot of German was being spoken as Hiltrude and Helmut don't speak much English but it was lovely to see Tony brushing up on his German and speaking to them so well.  Susanne and I had a long chat about the wedding etc as she speak perfect English.

We all went and had a lovely Indian lunch together.  I felt so blessed to be welcomed into Tony's extended family in Germany.

After a lovely time with Hiltrude, Helmut and Susanne, Tony and I looked through the village and I'll let the photos do all the talking.......be prepared to be blown away!

Part of the original town wall!

The Town Square.  Around Christmas time they have markets.
Postcard of Einbeck Christmas markets!  It's on my bucket list!

The Rathaus - the Old Town Hall

These big doors were there for a purpose - to roll the huge beer kegs in and out!
This is how Tony and I feel!
Tony and his mate Peter having a......oh! it's a coffee not an Einbecker beer!
We are loving our trip in Germany - and as Tony's shirt says 'Today is a Good Day'
Now our journey moves further north to the big smoke of Hamburg.  But on the way we need to pick up the Crazy Australian (Pat) from Hanover.

We will be in Hamburg till Saturday morning.

Pat, the crazy Aussie, finishing of his Jumbo Doner Tasche (Doner Kebab) at a roadside cafe on our way to Hamburg.
