Day 25 - Our Trek to Stuttgart

To make up for yesterdays long blog post and a lot of photos this one will be shorter as we were on the road for most of the day.

This trip has been the biggest drive so far.  So we took it easy on the autobahn and stopped off for lunch in Dresden.

80% of the Dresden City Centre was bombed and destroyed towards the end of WWII.  It has now been completely restored including the Frauenkircke cathedral which was rebuilt by worldwide private donations as late as 2005.  Here's more information about the bombing of Dresden.

The statue of of Martin Luther and was in the centre of the town square and behind is the bombed church

Inside the church - stunning!

Today Dresden is a very pretty town to visit.

Some fun for the kids in the town square

I can now say I've been to Ayers Rock - even though it was a cafe in Dresden offering Australian food!

Now we have the 4.5 hour journey to Stuttgart.  The autobahns are just fantastic and Tony handled the drive really well.  He is getting us around Germany very safely.

We arrived safely to Tony's friends, Jocki and Uschi, in Stuttgart. They have a beautiful home and we have our own bedroom and bathroom on the lower level.

Tomorrow we explore Stuttgart.
