Day 20 & 21 - Our Relaxing 2 Days in Vester Husby, Denmark!

Vester Husby is mainly a holiday area in the summer months and is situated in the north part of Denmark.

In the area we are staying each house is surrounded by bushland so you can't see the neighbours.  It's very rugged looking which reminds me a bit of where we stayed each Christmas for about 6 years, when I was a youngster, at Coolum.  Back in the day when Coolum was relatively untouched.

You can barely see the neighbours through the trees!
Can you see how thick the thatched roof is?
We left Emmelsbüll-Horsbüll at about 10:30am and arrived to the welcome of Monica and Jurgen (another couple who have been friends of Tony's for years) in Vester Husby at about 3:30pm.  It was a long drive and Tony handled it so well driving on the right side of the road.

We are at the border of Germany and Denmark

The old border station
The house where we are staying for the next 2 days is beautiful. We have our own shower and toilet AND I have 2 more cats to play with. I'm in heaven.

Also, the houses here have thatched roofs much like the houses in north Germany.  Here's a link on more information about thatched roofs - really interesting.

The 2 days were all about relaxing, reading, eating, drinking and a bit of sightseeing.

The photos say it all.

This was our beautiful place for 2 days
Dinner with Monica, Jurgen and Danish neighbour, Klaus
Did we drink all of these?
Breakfast is served!
Relaxing with our lovely hosts - Monica and Jurgen!
Drinking and relaxing!
More relaxing with the cats - Coco and Zino!
Track to the beach is no walk in the park!
Can you see the houses?

This is summer!

Tomorrow we say goodbye to Denmark and our hosts, Monica and Jurgen - thank you for a lovely relaxing 2 days) and head back to Hamburg to catch up with more friends of Tony's.  Thursday and Friday we are in Berlin.  Can you believe it we only have 1 week left of our holiday and still lots to do!

Farvel!  (Danish word - can you guess this word ....... it's very similar to the english word)
