Day 13 - Where to next?

I'm so glad you asked!

Now that the wedding is over we can all breath a sigh of relief that it all went so smoothly and was a huge success indeed!  Tony can now relax a bit more as I think he was stressing a bit with writing his speech in German and doing the wedding quiz - both in German.

I know that you were all hanging out for the blog post about the wedding but please read on as we still have 2 more weeks left in Germany and it is just as packed as the first 2 weeks.

Tonight we head south (about an hours drive) to visit a good friend of Tony's in Bad Gandersheim (click here for more information about the town).  A bit of interest for you - any town with the word Bad (pronounced Bard) at the beginning means it's a Health Spa town where people can go to for a retreat.  The Germans seem very healthy with their bike riding and walking their dogs but a lot of them smoke!

On Wednesday we are going to Einbeck (which is south again and about a 30 minute drive) to visit Tony's ex-mother in law for Kaffee and Kuchen!  Einbeck (click here for more information on the town) is known for it's Einbecker beer.

After Einbeck we head back to Hanover to pick up Tony's cousin's son, Pat, and we head up to Hamburg (which from Einbeck is a 3 hr drive) till Saturday.  Tony will show me around there as he lived in Hamburg for 5 years.

On Saturday we then travel north to a little town near Niebull. We will be staying with a lovely young couple who were at Lisa and Tobi's wedding and also they came out to Australia last year and stayed with us for 2 days.  Fiete's father lives on an island called Langeness and to get there you need to take a little train which will take an hour.  I'm so excited to see this region.  So stay tuned for this blog post it's going to be interesting.

We are then traveling further north to Denmark to catch up with more lovely friends of Tony's.

Lots more adventures to come!
